Buying work computers in Toronto

  • Posted by Colin Pearce

If you are buying work computers for your Toronto office, you may run into problems. New computers have low availability right now due to COVID-19 and supply chain issues.

Consider buying work computers from a Canadian refurbisher. Refurbished computers are pre-owned, usually purchased or leased in bulk when they were brand new. Local reburbishing companies buy these computers wholesale. They professionally clean, service, inspect, and grade the computers before selling them at extremely reasonable prices.

Many of the suppliers we use are available only to IT companies, but here are a couple of quality reburbishers available to the public:

  • Refurb.io. We love Lenovo ThinkPads. They never seem to die. They will usually last longer even than you want. So they make for great refurbished computers.
  • Canada Computers is also a good source for refurbished computers.

Ask your IT company if they have connections to other pre-owned deals if you are buying work computers.

The good thing is, you don’t need to replace computers or laptops as often if you have moved your office servers to a cloud-based environment such as the Cloud Office. This is because computing power and storage is being handled by a fast data centre, not your physical computer itself.

If you are having trouble buying new work computers due to supply issues, or even if you would just like to save some money on pre-owned units, check out the refurbished option.
